The Calne Singers 7th Birthday Party May 15th 2024

 

Thank you to everyone who attended our amazing birthday party, and made the occasion such a success.  We raised a whopping £200.00 from the Raffle alone, and we gratefully received  stand alone  donations too, to donate to our chosen charity "The Sick Children's Trust. 

 

Keep a lookout as there's more fundraising to happen in the future and we will keep you updated!

Calne Singers donate another Cheque to AGE UK ( Calne ) of just under £100.00 on 14th December 2023, and then sung to the group, with audience participation at their Christmas Party.

We are extremely pleased and proud to announce we raised over £330.00 singing at "Heart of The Community - Fund Raising Concert".

​

The Calne Singers sang for over an hour, there was a brilliant raffle (well done to all the winners) and an amazing afternoon tea.  All monies raised go straight to this fabulous local Calne Charity.

A very proud day as The Calne Singers donated £200.00 to our chosen charity for 2023 - AGE UK 

 

This money was raised by donations given to the choir for our performances , and also holding a sales table at a rehearsal to boost the total! Thank you everyone !!

​

Pam Stevens and Alison Owens popped into Beversbrook Sports Facility to deliver the Cheque . We met up with a few of the ladies and gents partaking in the activities  with Tracey Jones and her assistants Thanks to Alison Owens for taking the brilliant photos.

The Calne Singers carried out a performance to celebrate the Coronation with singalong audience participation at The Forget Me Not Club in Calne.  We had a super time and were given a glowing review.

1st April 2023

The Calne Singers were invited back to sing once again for The Friends of St. Mary's Church (FOSM) on Saturday 1st April - 10am - midday.

​

It was a very rainy morning but there were many stalls inside the Church, with hand made crafts, cards, Easter gifts, a tombola, raffle and lots of cakes!!!!

​

We had a super time singing in such a beautiful venue!

 

 

23rd December 2022

In Calne, we are very lucky to have many community-based groups, for all ages and abilities one being “Heart of the Community”.  This group is held at Colemans farm, Angell Close every day, providing a hot meal as well as Friendship, advice and support. 

​

The Calne Singers went along and provided entertainment on the 23rd December during the Christmas party which was accompanied by a Christmas dinner for approximately 40 people. We encouraged sing-alongs and audience participation.

13th December 2022

On Tuesday 13th December we sang Christmas songs to the  “Reconnecting Club”.  A community based group who meet in the town hall in Calne Tuesday mornings and provide support and friendship to all members of the community. We sang for just under an hour and gave out Jingle Bells to the audience to ring as we sang. 

​

9th December 2022

We entertained our audience on Friday 9th December in Marden House, Calne . The group called “Forget Me Not Club” get together on a regular basis providing friendship and support for people with memory problems.  They asked us to entertain their 80 or so strong audience. Many came along with their Carers, and a lovely Buffet was provided. The choir encouraged the audience to use Cards with numbers and Pictures to join in with songs - great stimulation for the brain!!

29th November 2022

Calne Singers did a lovely afternoon performance at Saint Clements Court Brook Street Chippenham on Tuesday 29th November 2022 to the residents and their guests.  We sang Christmas carols and Christmas themed songs that the audience participated in.  There were refreshments and Mince pies for all. We will be going back in the summer to sing at one of their tea parties.

Calne Singers raised £250 for the Alzheimer's Society by carrying out a lunchtime concert held at Marden House Calne on July 20th 2022.
